SARAH BAKER

"My drawing of an imagined space I felt was representational of a head space situated at a crossroads, where one could retreat to contemplate direction, perhaps drawing on memories. It also reminded me of a slide projector case belonging to my father and family slide shows.

Engaging with Corriana Clarke’s work made me think about the home space as a transitory space which led to the introduction of directional lines. Combining these with ghost images of her gifted drawing gave the illusion of materialisation or dematerialisation of the space. Finally, absence conveyed the sense of home transported with the sofa."
