ALISON SUMMERS BELL

"Despite similar psychological starting points using the theme of  the title, it was clear we used very different methodologies and materials, drawing ultimately from our own resources of imagining, seeing through our own lens of making, and reliant on our intuition. The journey to the final intervention challenged preconceptions of behaviours and authorship.

The workshop revealed something of ourselves, our awareness of why we take the decisions we do, why we hold particular things close and what is important to us. It revealed the importance of feeling new and inventive for oneself, or there is no genuine progress. New avenues came from the collective sharing of experience: it encouraged self-reflection and consideration of the wider use of  unexpected methods and materials to develop a deeper critical consideration of elements used.

A great launch pad for further investigations!"
