Then Justine described how she made the work, where it was made, what the environment was like. The media used, the style of printing and the pressure used when mark making. With that information I interpreted my own drawing in this way.

The mediated image, a photograph shared via email. I could focus on the marks and knew how they were made, I could see colour and knew the media yet the texture, weight, vibrance, delicacy and fragility of Justine’s drawing only revealed with bodily contact and then, all I could do was protect it."
